Acceptance of Online Education Is Growing

Business and labor leaders recognize the importance of retraining workers with skills that meet 21st century employment needs. And online learning is an increasingly acceptable, some say even better, way to become retrained.

John Zogby, the famous pollster, wrote a provocative book entitled The Way We’ll Be: The Zogby Report on the Transformation of the American Dream. In a poll Zogby conducted, 43 percent of 1,545 CEOs and small business owners nationwide agreed that a “degree earned through an online or distance-learning program is as credible as a degree earned through a traditional campus-based program.”

Those who agreed perhaps know that online education improves upon campus learning in several ways. It requires no travel, can be conducted at a fraction of the cost and has multiple quality checks.
